THE AXIUS 8mm NEEDLE DRIVER – now FDA registered

Utilizing a streamlined architecture and advanced mechanical engineering, the AXIUS™ Needle Driver provides the advantages of robotic suturing in an ergonomic, hand-held mechanical design.

  • Enhanced dexterity and precision
  • Mechanical design maintains tactile feedback of the tissue
  • Better ergonomics than traditional laparoscopy
  • Minimal learning curve
  • Easily integrated within laparoscopic workflow
  • Reusable – cost spread over multiple procedures
  • Surgeon remains at the OR table and in direct contact with the patient

FINGERTIP PRECISION

The patented Infinity Dial allows the user to make small articulation and rotational adjustments with just their fingertips, allowing precise needle positioning and delicate movements required for complex reconstructive suturing.

AXIUS™ eliminates forearm supination and pronation, enhancing user ergonomics compared to traditional laparoscopic instruments.

OPTIMAL NEEDLE DRIVING MOTION

Combining fingertip rotation with adjustable articulation achieves the optimal movement for suturing: the ‘Articulated Roll’.

Unlike any other handheld suturing device, AXIUS™ drives the needle through the tissue precisely following the curve of the needle, allowing the user to treat the tissue gently even when suturing at extreme angles.

FURTHER DEVELOPMENTS IN THE PIPELINE

At FlexDex Surgical, we are developing a suite of AXIUS™ Advanced Laparoscopy devices, which aim to simplify the most complex surgical tasks, such as precise dissection.

The full suite will allow surgeons to access a similar level of dexterity in both their robotic and non-robotic surgical procedures, enabling more procedures to be performed with a minimally invasive approach.

The complete AXIUS™ instrument suite will be able to be reprocessed multiple times, providing a cost-effective solution for hospitals to integrate alongside their existing laparoscopic and robotic programs.
